Starlooks Looksbook September 2015

This month's Looksbook by Starlooks is a jungle Revival theme with a mix of earthy shades and pop of pink on the lips.  Each month is a different theme with three "perfect size," or about 3/4 size, cosmetics that are perfect for on-the-go.  There is also a booklet included with tips and ideas on how to use the products.  Let's take a look at this month's selection.

First off, I really like the packaging this month.  It's really unique and vibrant.  Inside, there is an eyeshadow duo in Agave, a deep teal/green mascara in Flora and matte bright pink lipstick in Rawr.  Right off the bat I was drawn to the eyeshadow duo.  I love the shades they included.  I think they'd be beautiful on their own or worn with each other.  In the idea booklet included, Green Agave is on the lid and Red Agave is in the crease/outer corner.  Really pretty!  The formula on these is really smooth too, I'll definitely enjoy these this fall!

I don't think I've ever purchased a mascara other than dark brown or black so this deep teal mascara in Flora is a new product for me.  I wasn't sure it would show up on my dark lashes but it does!  It doesn't shout "green lashes!" but when the light hits it, you really see the color come to life.  I would totally wear this mascara!  Also, the wand has a tightly packed bristle brush so it easily combs through and coats each lash with its unique color. My favorite style brush - very easy to use!

The last product is a bright pink matte lipstick in Rawr.  While I wouldn't normally wear this shade, it is really pretty.  It took a bit to warm up the formula, but once it gets going, it applies smoothly with rich, creamy color.  It feels really lightweight on the lips and has a great staining effect if you apply it lightly.

I don't think I've ever swatched a mascara before... but I tried to capture the color so you can see it in comparison to the other shades included.  It's really cool.  Also, if you're in a pinch, the Red Agave shadow could be used as a blush.  All-in-all, a great shade selection for a unique look this month.  I'll get the most use out of the eye products for sure.
