Fabulous in a Flash ft. Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques

There are some days I literally have 15 minutes to get ready.  Maybe naptime didn't go according to plan or I got things done around the house so efficiently that there's time to go out and enjoy the sunshine.  Either way, I appreciate products that help me get ready at lightening speed but still look like I put in more effort!  The two things that seem to take up the most time for me are my base (foundation etc.) and eyeshadow.  Today we'll look at some products that help me get fabulous in a flash - Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques Pressed Foundation and Eye Trio in Cappuccino.

Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques are made with natural, organic ingredients and are cruelty free.  They also have ingredients to help moisturize and rejuvinate skin.  The Pressed Foundation has Zinc to protect from the sun, Jojoba to hydrate and nourish, and other natural ingredients that help soften and rebuild skin.  To prep my skin I simply moisturize and if I have time, maybe a light layer of primer.  Some days I skip that step if I am not wearing a liquid foundation.  This powder foundation works beautifully with or without primer on my skin, which is particularly oily this time of year.  For a lighter, more natural look, I use a brush for application.  A basic buffing brush does the trick and is extremely efficient.  If you want more coverage, you can use the puff that comes with the foundation.  I work in sections and just buff the product into my skin to achieve light to medium coverage.  It feels so lightweight and my skin can breathe!  I often forget how amazing powder foundation can feel when I've been using so many liquid foundations.  It's definitely a welcome break for my skin!  The finish of this foundation is matte but very natural on the skin.  It blends easily and matches my skin so well you would barely see it if I swatched it for you!  I finish my look off with a bit of bronzer and blush and then it's time for my ever so simple (yet glamorous) eye look!

The Cinnamon eye trio comes with the following colors:
Egyptian Bronze - a demi-matte peachy shade
Cappuccino - a shimmery light bronze
Cinnamon - a demi-matte dark brown

I can't tell you how impressed I was with the formula of these shadows.  When I swatched them I noticed they felt drier than I expected but the swatches were incredibly smooth and pigmented!  As I began applying them I noticed how well these powders clung to my brush.  I always tap off excess product but even then I usually get some amount of fallout, especially with loose shadows.  No matter how I applied these colors, or what type of brush, I had absolutely no fallout.  It was amazing.

Left to right: Egyptian Bronze, Cappuccino, Cinnamon

In terms of colors, this trio is filled with all the essentials!  You have a transition shade which can also be used as a lighter lid color, a beautiful neutral shimmer that can be used to brighten things up day or night, and a dark brown which is ideal for intensifying a look or for using as a liner.  You really can't go wrong with any combination of these shades.  Even if I'm short on time I can still achieve a glamorous look with these three shades.

How to:  After priming my lids I use Egyptian Bronze in the crease with a fluffy crease brush.  I then apply Cappuccino with a flat shader brush all over my lid.  You don't even need an additional color for the inner corner, this shade has enough shimmer to brighten all on its own!  I apply a bit of this shade to my lower lash line as well - leaving the outer third blank.  I then take Cinnamon, using a dense dome shape brush, and apply it to the outer corner of my eye and finish off my lower lash line using a small smudge brush.

If you have even less time, just one or two of these shades would be beautiful.  For a simple nighttime look, I love using Cinnamon all over the lid (blending in the crease of course) as well as on the lower lashline.  Then, just pat a bit of Cappuccino in the center of the lid for dimension.  These colors maintain intensity throughout the entire day until I'm ready to wash off my makeup.  I absolutely love them!  There are other trios and duos available but you can also get the shadows individually if you fall in love with a particular shade.
