Beauty Bag - S.W. Basics

Less is more - a phrase many people use, but how many really subscribe to its true meaning?  Well, S.W. Basics of Brooklyn does.  We live in a world where many beauty products are filled with chemicals, unnatural ingredients, and many things most of us can't even pronounce.  So when I discovered a toner by S.W. Basics with five ingredients, I was intrigued.  In this Beauty Bag post we will look at a fantastic travel set from S.W. Basics filled with everything you need for on the go, simple skincare.  And for the first time ever, I will list all ingredients of the products featured.

If you've read some of my other skincare posts, you know I have sensitive skin.  Some products irritate my skin due to their fragrance or other ingredients that are not gentle enough for my skin.  The founder of S.W. Basics created these products due to a need for gentle, simple skincare for her sensitive skin.  And it turns out, this is something many of us look for and want in a skincare line!

If I had to describe this line in just a few words it would be incredibly gentle AND effective.  Those words are not often found together but I have had absolutely no irritation from using any of these products and my skin feels incredible.

I start by using the makeup remover at the end of the day which you simply shake and apply with a cotton round.  This product can also be used as a moisturizer.  I follow with the cleanser which is non-foaming and soap-free.  This is applied the same way as the makeup remover followed by rinsing.  I finish off with the toner, which also requires shaking and application with a cotton round.  This is the only one of these products that has a somewhat strong smell due to the apple cider vinegar.  It does dissipate, and even more so if you top with a moisturizer to finish off your routine.  The cream is incredibly moisturizing.  I personally use it for my hands, elbows and heels, but it can also be used for your face.

Each of these products is packaged in a simple glass container.  The liquids are all 1 oz. and the cream is .7 oz. so they are all travel-friendly and easy to pack on the go.  I love the size of these even if I am just at home because a little goes a long way with these products.  They are easy to store and I love the simple packaging!  You can also buy the minis separately if there is one particular product you want to try.  The mini sets definitely make a great gift though!  You can find more S.W. Basics products on their website or even on  I have not investigated my local Target, but have seen photos of S.W. Basics in stores as well!  I'll definitely be looking the next time I'm out!

What S.W. Basics products are going in your beauty bag this summer??
