Beauty Bag ft. Kosmatology

Beauty Bag Series - Kosmatology

kosmatology lotion bar lip balm bug repellent - the beauty puff

With travel season upon us, it's time for another Beauty Bag post!  Packing can be overwhelming, especially if you have a limited amount of space to work with.  The last thing I want to do, personally, is lug around a huge bag with a bunch of liquids that can spill and make a mess all over my things.  Enter, Kosmatology! Not only is this brand's philosophy to provide you with safe, high quality ingredients, but the overall design is really quite ingenious.

Dr. Janis Kosma Covey developed the formulas for this family-run business and focuses on quality, organic ingredients to nourish skin.  Why are organic ingredients beneficial?  They are free of harmful chemicals and are better for you, your family and the environment.  Now, like many others I'm sure, I do not have a 100% organic household.  However, I am learning to read more into the products I use and bring home to my family.  Kosmatology drew me in with their philosophy and mission to provide safe, family-friendly products.  I feel confident using and having their products around my baby.  Now, on to the products!

These travel-friendly products include a lip balm, lotion bar and bug repellent skin balm.  The lip balm is your traditional stick style.  It is incredibly nourishing and it smells really good!  I don't think I have ever had a lemon lip balm before.  I anticipated a strong citrus smell, but the scent is not over-powering and has a light sweetness to it.  It reminds me of the sugar-coated fruit jelly candies my grandparents had at their house when I was a child.  It is an incredibly nostalgic smell for me, so obviously I am a fan!  Other varieties include Fresh Spearmint, Goody-Goody Grapefruit, Orange Sweetness, and Minty Madness.  How cute are those names?

The lotion bar is a wonderful and practical style for on-the-go.  Who wants to worry about a lotion squeezing out and making a mess all over other toiletries?  This bar design solves that problem!  Think of it like a mini deodorant (strange comparison, but the design is the same).  The directions say to apply to damp skin (right out of the shower is perfect) to lock in moisture.  It is incredibly simple to use and takes barely any time, so I really enjoy this design.  The grapefruit scent is really nice for this time of year.  It's very fresh and not too sweet.  The lotion bars also come in Botanical Bliss, Unscented, Herbal Fresh, and even a Spruce'd Up Men's Lotion Bar which features a combination of pine, cedarwood and cinnamon.

Lastly, we come to the bug repellent.  This kind of product is certainly not a "glamorous" item, but this time of year is an absolute necessity!  I am not an "outdoorsy" sort of girl and I do not want bugs anywhere near me.  For those reasons, this bug repellent balm is going to have a permanent place in my outdoor summer routine!  Typical bug sprays are filled with chemicals, get everywhere and feel really sticky and make me want to shower the moment I put them on.  This balm has an herbal smell, which does not bother me at all.  It has shea butter and coconut oil to keep skin smooth and moisturized (not sticky and gross!).  Best of all, this balm is safe for the entire family.  So you can keep your sweet little Itty Bitty Puffs safe from bugs too!

kosmatology travel size - the beauty puff

To show you how travel-friendly these products are, I photographed them next to a pack of tissues.  Can you fit your lip balm, lotion and bug repellent in this compact space?  Probably not!  Also, these items are all flight-friendly.  No need to worry about the amount of liquids you have if all you plan on packing is a carry-on!  Just throw them in your bag and go!

I am really enjoying the quality, style and versatility of these products from Kosmatology.  I will be featuring more from this brand in a future post, so stay tuned!

What's in your beauty bag?

Love,
The Beauty Puff
