Ipsy Glam Bag May 2015

Ipsy May 2015

Ipsy May 2015 Glam Bag - the beauty puff

This may be the first Ipsy post on The Beauty Puff, but this is definitely not my first Glam Bag!  I was subscribed to Ipsy their first year.  As I discovered other subscription services and beauty products, I decided to unsubscribe and expand my beauty "palette".  Now that The Beauty Puff is in full gear I thought it was best to re-visit my first beauty subscription love!  I remember when Ipsy was called "MyGlam" and mainly featured Michelle Phan, Jessica Harlow, and Bethany Mota, just to name a few.  It was not as well known back then but it has definitely gained popularity.  I look forward to seeing if they can keep me "hooked" so to speak!  Now, on to my "not-so-first" glam bag!

This month's theme was Jetsetter, the perfect start to the traveling season.  Whether you are traveling, on the go, or just love to get new beauty products, this Glam Bag was a hit if you ask me!  In the "glam room" preview it showed a different bag that I'd be getting but I actually like the one I received better.  I think the bags from Ipsy have come a long way since I was first subscribed.  This bag even has a lining, fancy schmancy!  ::tosses it in purse::  Now, on to the products I received in my bag!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil in Ozone (~$15)

This lip pencil can be used with any lip color as it is completely clear.  This is not a new thing to me personally as clear lip liner is really the only kind I buy!  The only lip liner I have ever sought out is my Maybelline clear lip liner.  Why clear you ask?  I only use lip liner for lip products that have a tendency to bleed.  I do not like the look of unnatural, exaggerated or over-lined lips on me personally so clear lip liner is the way to go.  This product was one of my favorites this month for sure. (This also came with two small samples of their lip gloss which were pretty but just not my first choice of colors.)

Nuxe Facial Cleansing and Make-up Removing Gel (~$1.50)

This is a fairly unfamiliar brand to me.  The only Nuxe product I have is a deluxe sample that was included with the Mally Game Face Bag from Beauty.com.  I love refreshing face washes/makeup removing products so I am excited to try this one!

Jesse's Girl Pure Pigment Eye Dust in Brown Sugar ($4.99 Full size)

This is the first product from Jesse's Girl I have ever gotten.  I have seen this brand mentioned all over the place but haven't purchased it or seen it in any of my local stores.  In my eyes (no pun intended) you can't go wrong with a brown eyeshadow.  I'll look forward to seeing how this one performs in terms of pigmentation and lasting power and will hopefully do a review in the coming weeks!

Oscar Blandi Texture and Volume Spray ($24 Full size)

This texture and volume spray is much larger than I anticipated - it didn't even fit in the glam bag.  When I saw the pictures I thought it would be the size of a travel hair spray.  Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised.  I received a dry shampoo by Oscar Blandi in a previous Boxycharm and absolutely loved it. The price point for this brand is a bit steep for my budget BUT I love that I got another item to try in this Glam Bag!  I hope I love this product as much as their dry shampoo.  I am always looking for a good volume spray so this one will definitely be getting its own review once I've had a chance to try it.

Luxie Beauty Tapered Blending Eye Brush ($12)

Pink, rose gold, makeup brushes... these are a few of my favorite thiiiiings!  Ok no singing here, but seriously this brush is gorgeous!  It was the one item I had my heart set on.  Ipsy has deals on products and brands featured in their bags.  When I saw I missed out on the Luxie Beauty brush set deal they had last month, I wanted to kick myself.  But I refrained and instead took advantage of Luxie Beauty's deal on the Large Angled Face Brush.  I posted a picture of my two Luxie Beauty Brushes together on Instagram @thebeautypuff (in case you haven't seen).  So far I love these brushes!

Overall, I'm totally over the moon with this bag.  Every month is not created equal, however, so we'll see what else Ipsy has in store!  What do you think of this month's Glam Bag?
