Beauty Bummer - L'oreal Boost It High Lift Creation Spray

L'oreal Boost It High Lift Creation Spray

l'oreal boost it lift creation spray - the beauty puff

Every now and then we try products hoping for the best and unfortunately, some fall flat.  (No pun intended as we are talking about a volume spray!)  When I look for styling products, I do not want anything that makes my hair feel sticky or stiff.  When I wear my hair wavy, I look for added volume, as my hair is thick and heavy.  Finding the right combination of products can be difficult.  I have had the most luck with root lifting sprays as they are not sticky, can be used in conjunction with other styling products and are virtually undetectable in my hair.  I sought out this L'oreal High Lift Creation Spray having tried other products from this line that I really enjoyed.  The shampoos and conditioners are my favorite.  This spray unfortunately is not something I would buy again.

With this lift creation spray, you do not need a lot.  It is not an overall hairspray.  It is for targeted application where you want volume.  The product claims "instant lift + fullness" that provides a "strong hold."  While I did notice some volume with this product, I also noticed an incredible amount of stickiness/stiffness that made it quite uncomfortable in my hair.  This product was so sticky, each time I went to try spraying it, the nozzle was completely stuck and had to be rinsed with warm water in order to release dried product.

Another issue I had with this product was the smell.  I am not sensitive to smells ordinarily.  I actually tend not to be bothered by many scents as my sense of smell is not the best!  However for some reason, the hair styling products I have tried in this line are so heavily scented, even I can tell.  If you read my review of the Sleek It Frizz Vanisher Cream you will remember that also had a strong smell.  It was quite "perfumey" for lack of a better word.  It was not something I would normally enjoy.  Luckily the smell dissipated as the day went on and did not bother me except at first application.  The smell of this volume spray however, was so strong and bothersome I not only got a headache but came very close to washing my hair to get it out!  Aerosol sprays are obviously not meant to inhaled on a regular basis but I have never had one bother me so much.  The fact that I did not use much of this spray and it was still bothersome, definitely puts this in the "bummer" category.

Keep in mind these are my own thoughts and opinions and some may really enjoy this product.  I however, will be saying goodbye to the stiff, stinky spray.  I'll stick with the shampoo and conditioner from this line instead!
