April Favorites

April Favorites

april favorites 2015 - the beauty puff

This month I wanted to do something a little different with my monthly favorites.  If you follow @thebeautypuff on Instagram you can see the cosmetics I have been using over the past month and have really been enjoying.  Sometimes though, it's the products that work "behind the scenes" that are the most invaluable!  A few of these products have been reviewed on The Beauty Puff.  I have included links to the detailed posts if you'd like to read more.  Enjoy!

Elf Shine Eraser Blotting Sheets & EOS Lip Balm

Elf blotting sheets are always in my purse along with an EOS lip balm.  If you read the first Beauty Bag post, you can see the essentials I always have with me! Both of these products are ideal for at home or on the go.  Blotting is a necessity for me every day as I have oily skin.  These Elf blotting sheets are an affordable tool that help keep my makeup looking fresh without building up unnecessary product.  The EOS lip balms are another staple for me.  The scent/flavor changes based on my mood - I have quite a few!  I have been loving the Honeysuckle Honeydew in particular this month.  The scent and color remind me of warmer weather which I think we have all been craving after a particularly brutal winter.

Real Techniques Contour Brush & Sonia Kashuk Medium Shadow Brush

I have quite the collection of makeup brushes.  I most recently bought several from the It Brushes for Ulta Airbrush Collection.  There are some types/sizes of brushes that were not featured in this collection so I still remain obsessed with my affordable favorites!  I use the Real Techniques Contour Brush every single day to blend my under eye concealer (Garnier Skin Renew Eye Roller is my favorite).  It is easy to use, soft, large enough to blend efficiently and tapered enough to fit precisely under the eye area.  The Sonia Kashuk medium shadow brush is not as soft as the It Cosmetics brushes I have but due to its size and cut, it still remains an essential for packing on color all over the lid.  **I have still seen this brush in Target but it's not listed on their website.  If you see it at your local Target, grab it!  I think it was less than $5!

Pur~lisse Essential Daily Moisturizer & Hoofer's Choice Nail & Cuticle Cream

I can't say enough good things about these two products.  The pur~lisse moisturizer quenches my skin's "thirst" without leaving it greasy or sticky.  It is the fastest absorbing moisturizer I have ever used.  As a mom, I want to get up and go without worrying about how quickly a lotion absorbs.  I certainly multi-task during my morning routine, I've become a pro at that.  But waiting forever for some moisturizers to "sink in?"  Who has time for that?  This product absorbs quickly, nourishes and has spf for an all-in-one skincare must-have!  It has been a lifesaver for my skin and a time-saver for my morning routine!

Hoofer's Choice nail & cuticle cream has saved my cuticles in the way that pur~lisse has "saved my face" so to speak!  My nails and cuticles definitely got the short end of the stick this winter and this wonderful, affordable product saved them both.  Lucky for me, the trend this spring seems to be short nails.  So as my short nails continue to recover, I will be, for better or worse - on trend.
